[Multi] EA Confirms Medal of Honor Warfighter
[Image: game-news-image-2012-cd696b00f0ab5f7c73f...e992fd.jpg]

While Battlefield may not be going to war with Activision's next Call of Duty game (rumored to be Black Ops 2) for a second straight year, Electronic Arts isn't backing down from the military shooter fight in 2012. Today the publisher confirmed that developer Danger Close (the team behind the single-player campaign in 2010's Medal of Honor) is working on a new Medal of Honor game called Medal of Honor Warfighter. No other details were given other than the teaser image above, but the company says that more details on the game will be rolling out in the next few weeks.

Though not yet confirmed, Game Informer is reporting that the game will run on the Frostbite 2.0 engine used in Battlefield 3, and that Danger Close will be handling the multiplayer themselves this time around (DICE developed the multiplayer for the last Medal of Honor). It is expected that the game will launch sometime this October.

No surprises here, as soon as I saw the pamphlet thing in Battlefield 3's case for MOH I assumed this would happen. I guess EA will market this to once again compete with Call of Duty. No matter, I'll just stick with this until Battlefield 4 in several years time.

EA is doing EXACTLY what Activision is doing now with the annual releases except they're naming them with two different franchises.

Bad Company 2 and Medal of Honor came out in 2010, Battlefield 3 came out in 2011... that's as close as it gets.

IF DICE announces Bad Company 3 for 2013 then I'll be worried. But I sincerely doubt that, there is still more that they can be adding to Battlefield 3 before they move on (hence them not working on MoH's multiplayer this time)

Battlefield Bad Company in 2008, Battlefield 1943 in 2009, Battlefield Bad Company 2 early 2010, Medal of Honor late 2010, Battlefield 3 2011, Medal of Honor Warfighter 2012. I would be stunned if they don't have something in 2013.

But best is a Bad Company 3.... But I will still be playing Battlefield 3 anyway (or over FPS games again).

It makes sense though, the Medal of Honor games match Treyarch's games and Infinity Ward has lost a lot of its former greatness so we'll see how they stack up against DICE again, I'll be interested.

But at the same time, I'll probably wait for Battlefield 4.

Treyarch are good developers, hate how they've got this 'second best' label around them.

And you can't even defend DICE/EA, hasn't there been like 16 Battlefield/Medal Of Honor games in the past 10 years?

Nobody can defend EA in anything.
They bring out about 3 football games a year.

Well, honestly no. Sports are kinda boring. I occasionally watch Australian Football but only when my team is winning. Otherwise there are more enjoyable activities for me to indulge in. Anyway, we should get back to topic.

RE: [Multi] EA Confirms Medal of Honor Warfighter
I suppose so, though even at a pub I'd say bleh. On the rare occasion I care enough to check out a match live maybe but otherwise, pass.

Anyway, I'll probably check this out... if only to satisfy curiosity. Despite all of the negative aspects of the previous Medal of Honor game I didn't see much difference in the quality of its campaign and other mediocre be-a-soldier FPS games out there. They all fall into the same shallow pool, kept alive by multiplayer (which will be where this game fails, since honestly... EA FPS fans will be on Battlefield 3 still and CoD fans will be too busy salivating over Black Ops 2 or whatever the next installment is).

Either way, I'll be keeping my ears open for more information.
