Whilst I despise the Call of Duty franchise, and everything it stands for. Gun to my head, MW1 was the better game with the better story. Well, not better... maybe more interesting?

I agree, except the 'despising' part anyways...
why do you dislike call of duty anyways?

"Overrated" Seems to attract the bottom rung of gamers. (those that cheat to win) and has some of the worst fans this side of Halo.
(paying a subscription? You already paid £40 for the game now you are going to pay more money each month to get stuff that really should be in the game).

I despise Call of Duty because of what it represents, annually releasing a new game with little enhancements and pathetic story campaigns. The community also isn't the sort that I enjoy mingling with, but I wouldn't try to convince someone to not play it. Ultimately, I prefer to the slower, more epic style and scale of Battlefield 3. I'm not quite trigger happy enough for Call of Duty's trigger happy gameplay.

Ever since Modern Warfare 1 things have been going downhill.

Activision are also douchebags as far as publishers go. Call of Duty Elite, blacklisting a smaller game site for reporting Amazon's "Black Ops 2" and refusing to pull the story when requested, and by employing Bobby Kotick (The Devil in the world of gaming).

The only thing more annoying than the Call of Duty fanboys are the anti-Call of Duty fanboys. It's a solid FPS franchise, nothing more nothing less.

MW2 was more fleshed out but MW1 is far more memorable IMO.
