[X360] Review Roundup - The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings - Enhanced Edition - GlueGun18 - 04-16-2012 08:29 PM
VideoGamer - 9/10 - "While it runs on what would have been medium graphics on the PC version, this is a very small cross to bear for a game that brings itself to a mainstream audience - a place it deserves to be. While not necessarily as big a name as the products of BioWare or Bethesda, The Witcher 2 is still one of the most interesting developments in RPGs within the last ten years, and with a combination of additional content and cutscenes its Enhanced Edition on Xbox 360 is one of the most lovingly crafted fan-services you'll find"
IGN - 8.5/10 - "In every significant way, The Witcher 2 on Xbox 360 is the same subversive and compelling fantasy that it was on the PC. There are some minor technical and graphical blemishes, but they don’t detract from what is one of the best RPGs of recent years, and the extra content adds value. This is an ambitious and absorbing game that’s not just superficially “adult”, but genuinely mature."
Eurogamer - 9/10 - "The Witcher 2's timing is prescient. As Game of Thrones dominates the television ratings, just as Skyrim has dominated the game charts in recent months, the cultural appetite for fantasy is as high as it's ever been. Despite the competition, however, The Witcher 2 has an air of unique wonder about it. There's a weight and detail to the mythology that is beguiling, but CD Projekt's skill has been in making this relevant and meaningful to the player. Where endless talk of mythical factions, rivalries and loyalty can drag even the best fantasy fiction down, in The Witcher 2, the backstory is as compelling as the plot that darts through it. And the weave of systems and story ensures that here is a legend as beautiful in the reality as it is in the telling."
Game Informer - 9.5/10 - "There are very few differences between playing this on 360 or a high-end PC. The graphical gap is noticeable but trivial, load times are short and infrequent on both, and the game plays equally well on mouse/keyboard and gamepad. Several complaints I had about the original – horrid inventory management, punishing early difficulty, targeting problems – have been patched away since launch, and those improvements are incorporated here (thus the slightly higher score). The few flaws I take issue with should in no way discourage anyone from playing this fantastic, unique RPG. So long as they’re over 18, anyway, because this is the most deserving M rating I’ve ever personally played through."
Gaming Age - A- - "So yeah, you should probably pick this up. It’s a fantastic game, even set aside from playing the original Witcher, so don’t be put off by the fact that you might not have played the first game. For console only players that have heard PC gamers talk endlessly about the merits of this particular title, you’ll finally get a chance to see what all the hype has been about. I don’t think you’ll come away disappointed in the slightest, as The Witcher 2 really delivers in every way imaginable."

It is good to see that it came out so well. It's a damn shame it isn't coming to PS3, but I guess I have my PC version for that reason. Nicely played, CD Projekt.
