More Desperate Struggle Info, Possibly the Wii's Last No More Heroes - Cubroso - 07-01-2009 01:46 PM

Suda 51, in an interview with Edge magazine, brings us somewhat welcome information regarding his upcoming Wii exclusive No More Heroes: Desperate Struggle.

The enemies' AI, according to Suda, has been improved. This will be apparent when the enemies attack you. Depending on their weapon class, they will either be engaged in ranged or close combat. Also mentioned were secondary characters you'll be playing as. They will each have their own style and "cool factor". Don't worry, Travis fans, for your hero won't be out of the spotlight for good. Suda gives us news that Travis will be piloting a giant robot, obviously hinting at large-scale epic battles. Santa Destroy has also been upgraded, now populated "one-and-a-half times" the original setting, and has been visually upgraded, allowing motion blur and HDR lighting.

Unfortunately for Wii-only owners, Suda thinks that this will be the last No More Heroes installment on the Wii.

"I think this is the last No More Heroes that is going to be in development on Wii. To expand No More Heroes to new possibilities, we need a new platform. Wii is a great platform, but we've done everything we can with it now."
- Suda51

I wonder where Suda plans to take No More Heroes. Some argue that if it were to go to either the PlayStation or Xbox, that it would be just another button masher, which in my opinion, isn't much different than what it is right now. What do you readers think?

Depends on what they do with the franchise. And I'm sure Suda will change his mind of this one sells well, which I doubt it will.
Next place the franchise is headed? Probably 360 like the first one originally was. And yes it would become a button masher without waggle. Still I like the giant robot fighting idea.

Cool, its more populated. But its needs more life, not people. People in the streets need to react.

As for it going to another console for the next installment then bleh, I doubt they'd find better sales anyway.

They probably will.

Its a good game that could be, and do, better if it was on another console.
Though its too bad since the Wii's the only one I own.

I doubt much will be missed when it moves on.

Didn't care about NMH when it came out, don't care about it now. If Suda 51 wants to alienate his fan base, I say go for it.

Heh, Wii and its low memory/processing power. Makes me sad in my pants inside.

Really though, I don't care too much. Maybe NMH should just be put to bed. While the game might be more complex and environmentally diverse on a 360, it wouldn't be as fun as swinging your beam-sword thing to kill baddies. Button-mashing is not my thing.

Anyway, this time Wii owners know there really will be "no more heroes."

Um all i care about is when it comes out

The swinging of the Wiimote wasn't much better either really. But I will agree that its better than button mashing. And your pun at the end was horrible.

WANT.

As for the next system, although I hate to see it go from the Wii... Perhaps Project NATAL could play a part?

Ugh. I certainly hope not.

I'm skeptical that that thing can do any sort of fast-paced action anything.

Wishful thinking, mostly, but you're probably right.
