Metroid Prime Trilogy Collector's Edition Shown - LemonManX - 06-24-2009 07:56 PM

Nintendo of America has revealed that the much-anticipated Metroid Prime Trilogy will be receiving a collector's edition. It will come with a metal case, slip off cover and an art book as well. It will also be the only version of the game shipping for some time, so there will not be any extra costs to be worried about. Check out the box art.

Fantastic to hear this, but still no word on whether or not we'll get a Metroid: Other M demo with the title or not.

Day one.

RE: Metroid Prime Trilogy Collector's Edition Shown - Bebo - 06-24-2009 11:42 PM

I have never in my entire life played any Metroid Prime game. I liked Super Metroid so I think I might just try this (finally).

RE: Metroid Prime Trilogy Collector's Edition Shown - Rawrmander - 06-24-2009 11:49 PM

If you're like me the jump from 2D to 3D Metroid was... iffy.
But you get used to it.

I still prefer the 2D though. Haven't managed to get past MP2, and haven't even touched 3 yet.
Buying the collector's edition provided they don't jack the price up 30$.

RE: Metroid Prime Trilogy Collector's Edition Shown - Kindrik - 06-25-2009 12:07 AM

I think it's going to be $50 which isn't bad considering it's 3 games along with extra content and an awesome new case, when they could have easily just re-released the first two games at $30 each and not included any new stuff.

RE: Metroid Prime Trilogy Collector's Edition Shown - Rooster - 06-25-2009 12:39 AM

I am buying this.

If we get a Metroid: Other M demo (or even a new trailer) with this game I will have a heart attack.

RE: Metroid Prime Trilogy Collector's Edition Shown - MadSlick - 06-25-2009 12:50 AM

Getting it no matter what... I need this!!!

RE: Metroid Prime Trilogy Collector's Edition Shown - LemonManX - 06-25-2009 01:27 AM

Pre-ordering from America as soon as I have the spare cash.

RE: Metroid Prime Trilogy Collector's Edition Shown - Kindrik - 06-25-2009 02:38 PM

Well then try pre-ordering from GameStop somehow because doing so gets you a sweet shirt.

RE: Metroid Prime Trilogy Collector's Edition Shown - Red - 06-25-2009 02:44 PM

I hope the shirts are in adult small

RE: Metroid Prime Trilogy Collector's Edition Shown - noob916 - 06-25-2009 03:00 PM

HELL YEAH SUCKAAAAA!! LOL Im geting this. And the price is $50? Not bad. Not bad at all

RE: Metroid Prime Trilogy Collector's Edition Shown - Cubroso - 06-25-2009 03:08 PM

Ths shirt isn't that great.
:l

RE: Metroid Prime Trilogy Collector's Edition Shown - Wiiwillrockyou - 06-25-2009 04:15 PM

Hell yes. NOW.

RE: Metroid Prime Trilogy Collector's Edition Shown - LemonManX - 06-25-2009 06:15 PM

I'd wear that shirt. Since there is a distinct lack of Metroid merch.

RE: Metroid Prime Trilogy Collector's Edition Shown - Wiiwillrockyou - 06-25-2009 06:17 PM

^He's got a point.

RE: Metroid Prime Trilogy Collector's Edition Shown - Athronox - 06-25-2009 06:20 PM

I think it looks pretty cool actually. Simplistic, understated, but kind of elegant too. It's nice. You get that shirt up front or with the game?

RE: Metroid Prime Trilogy Collector's Edition Shown - Red - 06-25-2009 07:18 PM

This will be my last FPS for awhile...Anyone know about any good Wii RPG's?

RE: Metroid Prime Trilogy Collector's Edition Shown - Athronox - 06-25-2009 08:02 PM

ksotto Wrote:This will be my last FPS for awhile...Anyone know about any good Wii RPG's?

Well to be honest ksotto, RPG'ing on the Wii is incredibly bleak. Twilight Princess and Tales of Symphonia 2 are about the only things out there worth playing when it comes to RPG. However, the 'cube has some pretty decent ones. If you're looking for a good hack n' slash much like Diablo 2, try Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance, but if you're looking for my conventional stuff, try Baiten Kaitos: Origins, Tales of Symphonia, and Skies of Arcadia, all of them will be pretty cheap by now. I seriously recommend Baldur's Gate though.

RE: Metroid Prime Trilogy Collector's Edition Shown - LemonManX - 06-26-2009 11:26 AM

If you want to RPG it up then get a PS2 or PC.

RE: Metroid Prime Trilogy Collector's Edition Shown - Red - 06-26-2009 12:34 PM

Phantom Brave We meet again(?) looks good...but its not out yet. Imma check out that tales of symphonia game

RE: Metroid Prime Trilogy Collector's Edition Shown - Athronox - 06-26-2009 12:46 PM

LemonManX Wrote:If you want to RPG it up then get a PS2 or PC.

Definitely PS2. PC is a meh.

RE: Metroid Prime Trilogy Collector's Edition Shown - Red - 06-26-2009 12:48 PM

I have a PS2 but it just sits next to my Wii and acts jealous because it dosent get used anymore.

RE: Metroid Prime Trilogy Collector's Edition Shown - LemonManX - 06-26-2009 08:54 PM

Well, if you want RPGs then that'll change. Otherwise, Wii RPG's are meh thus far.

RE: Metroid Prime Trilogy Collector's Edition Shown - Red - 06-26-2009 08:57 PM

Wii needs MOAR RPG's its the ultimate untapped genre you cant copy someone because theres nothing there.

RE: Metroid Prime Trilogy Collector's Edition Shown - LemonManX - 06-26-2009 09:02 PM

DS has some pretty good RPGs. But really, the Wii doesn't have any of interest. 360 and PS3 have some with more upcoming.

RE: Metroid Prime Trilogy Collector's Edition Shown - Red - 06-26-2009 09:03 PM

Meh. I'm looking for a big console RPG otherwise I would just get WEWY

RE: Metroid Prime Trilogy Collector's Edition Shown - Cubroso - 06-26-2009 09:15 PM

Final Fantasy IV: The After Years?

RE: Metroid Prime Trilogy Collector's Edition Shown - LemonManX - 06-26-2009 09:18 PM

How big of an RPG is it? Playtime wise? I've been interested, but I wasn't sure how long it was. I love me a good 40 hour RPG.

RE: Metroid Prime Trilogy Collector's Edition Shown - Red - 06-26-2009 09:20 PM

Would I need to play FFIV first?

RE: Metroid Prime Trilogy Collector's Edition Shown - Cubroso - 06-26-2009 09:42 PM

@LMX - I don't know for sure. I've barely got the time to play it full-on since I bought it, to be honest. With the Super Metroid GotP thing going on, my time for games has really been minimal. I don't work tomorrow, so I'll have to try it out. (If you're on MSN at all, I'll totally talk with you about it.) I hear murmors of it being episodic, and I did notice the "downloadable content" clicky in the main menu. I'll check that out as soon as I'm done writing this post.

Edit:
There is but one thing up for download, and it is an expansion to the regular story (titled "Rydia's Tale"). At 300 points, I bought it right away. I still have no idea how long it is, however.
x3

@ksotto - No, not unless you really are into Final Fantasy IV in general (which in that case, go play it anyway, it's fantastic). The story takes place fifteen (I think?) years after the events of Final Fantasy IV, so I don't think that you'll be missing much. That being said, I have no idea how much the stories of the two games cross over. Given from the ending of the first one Kain (the dragoon) goes onto become a White/Light Dragoon, and like Cecil in the first game, must face his dark self at the Mt. of Ordeals. So I guess it takes place during this time. I could be mistaken, I've only played, like, five minutes of this, so don't go by my word.

/ramble

RE: Metroid Prime Trilogy Collector's Edition Shown - LemonManX - 06-26-2009 10:31 PM

So wait, expansion at 300 points. How much is the game itself? 1000 points? That's 1300 points... it'd want to be a decent length game.

RE: Metroid Prime Trilogy Collector's Edition Shown - Cubroso - 06-26-2009 10:37 PM

The main game itself is only 800 points.

I'm off to make a thread on it in the WiiWare subforum.

I haven't played the game either but what I heard in reviews is that the story in After Years just doesn't make sense and isn't as interesting to the player if they haven't already finished FFIV.

RE: Metroid Prime Trilogy Collector's Edition Shown - morph_ball - 07-02-2009 09:45 PM

Please tell me this Metroid Pack is coming to Australia!!!

RE: Metroid Prime Trilogy Collector's Edition Shown - Kindrik - 07-03-2009 12:03 AM

Well I know it's going to the UK so I'd assume you'd get it in Australia eventually.

NA August 24, 2009
PAL September 4, 2009

RE: Metroid Prime Trilogy Collector's Edition Shown - LemonManX - 07-03-2009 05:15 AM

It will be, morph_ball. But I'm importing from America because I'm not waiting that long.

RE: Metroid Prime Trilogy Collector's Edition Shown - Red - 07-11-2009 08:05 PM

The review score shall be (if mathyness is used) DRUM ROLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL

MP 9.8
MPE 9.6
MPC 9.5
+
Diveded by 3
= 9.6

And that is how the score for all compilations should be discovered.

RE: Metroid Prime Trilogy Collector's Edition Shown - LemonManX - 07-12-2009 12:42 AM

Sif. MP1 and MP2 get .1 for having the superb controls of MP3.

Compilation score should be 9.8.

Is it really that important? Why does it matter if the game gets a 9.0 or a 9.5 or a 9.9? Regardless, it's still obviously a really good game.

I don't mind if he changes my score. Because right now I'm considering giving it a 10.

RE: Metroid Prime Trilogy Collector's Edition Shown - Cubroso - 07-12-2009 07:42 PM

I'm giving it a 'Buy/10'.

Seems to be the obvious choice.

RE: Metroid Prime Trilogy Collector's Edition Shown - Red - 07-12-2009 07:46 PM

I just gave it that if math was involved, otherwise it should be a 10/10 do to the pure win of the games all together in one spot.

RE: Metroid Prime Trilogy Collector's Edition Shown - Cubroso - 07-12-2009 08:52 PM

Score averages are stupid, anyway. Why? They're nothing but a weak variable that can be used to structure one's bias for a game, system or company. We have a roundtable for this topic, actually. Scores are nothing but an individual's opinion of a game, its how he or she experienced it. If someone can't really base your opinion of a game on some sort of personal or professional experience, and instead just go about quoting reviews saying "omg this game is so freaking amazing", they shouldn't really debate game scores. /mini rant

tl;dr: Enough with the score talk, its not something that makes you look cool.

/hypocrite

RE: Metroid Prime Trilogy Collector's Edition Shown - LemonManX - 07-12-2009 09:01 PM

I should review this compilation when it comes out, it'll go something like this:

"Only Wii game that you 100% must have in your library.
10/10"

xD

RE: Metroid Prime Trilogy Collector's Edition Shown - Cubroso - 07-12-2009 09:03 PM

Then I demand to make it the first official WiiLoaded review, just because we're that ridiculous andawesome.

“[Metroid Prime Trilogy] is certainly coming. That looks fantastic. And it’s got a little… special item in the book. That’s definitely coming. Just a little something in the book, but we need people to wait for that.” - Nintendo Australia’s Managing Director Rose Lappin

Well now, still going to import LMX?

RE: Metroid Prime Trilogy Collector's Edition Shown - LemonManX - 07-15-2009 11:44 AM

Yes. I'll get both, quite simple d:

Besides, the PAL box art doesn't have the orange stripe everyone complained about.

Not yet, lodging my pre-order with PlayAsia next week probably.

RE: Metroid Prime Trilogy Collector's Edition Shown - Selk879 - 08-12-2009 03:15 PM

Mmmm... tempting... but I've bought every single MP game so far, and I have yet to finish them all. This might just be another drink coaster for me, I'm sorry to say. I really did like the original 2D Metroids better.

RE: Metroid Prime Trilogy Collector's Edition Shown - LemonManX - 08-12-2009 07:38 PM

Its your loss really, this series (much like Zelda and Mario) really nailed the transition into 3D.

RE: Metroid Prime Trilogy Collector's Edition Shown - morph_ball - 08-22-2009 12:15 AM

EB Games Australia is now listing the Trilogy with an October 15th Release Date...I still don't understand why it takes so long for Nintendo to release games over here Sad

RE: Metroid Prime Trilogy Collector's Edition Shown - LemonManX - 08-22-2009 03:39 AM

Because they hate us. Like I said, importing the US one. Then trading PAL MP3 in and getting the PAL MPT.
