Metroid Prime Trilogy Boxart Shown - LemonManX - 06-13-2009 11:33 PM

Just spied this and figured it'd be worth posting up, interesting to note the orange "Collector's Edition" label across it. It may not end up amounting to anything, but this may or may not open up the possibilities of extra features. Maybe even that playable build of Metroid: Other M that Sakamoto talked about? It probably won't be, but this may be something to keep an eye on leading up to its release in a couple of months.

What we do know, is that its a great time for Metroid fans everywhere over the last few weeks.

I agree it looks pretty blah. But I think it looks better than the rubbish that we got for Prime 1 and 3. Prime 2 sorta cover would have worked for me. But I'll accept this anyway.

I agree. I just don't like the orange bar or the arm-cannon fire in the middle.

Some one should elaborate on that fan-made box art and make a printable version for this. I'd use that.

Eh. Not interested in this box art. Why would you put a colour like ORANGE over that?! (Aside from the fact that it's bad enough having a bar over the box.)
Fan art > Nintendo art.

The problem with that box art is, even though it looks really cool, it has no relevance to Metroid's art style.

If you dont look hard enough you cant even tell its Samus, Maybe I'll just print out the Fanart one, Because when you compare them you know somebody is going to put in the right size and everything for easy printing.

Nintendo needs some good artists or something because that boxart is lame. On the other hand, the fan-made one is pretty damn awesome. Yeah, Nintendo, sort it out.

Repeat: The fanart doesn't follow the Metroid Prime art style, which is why the MPT box art looks nothing like that.

It's mostly about game content, but it's nice to see some neat looking box art peering out at you as you play. I think this fits the category.

Didn't some post finding that fan-art boxart waaay back when?
Anyway, Its just as awesome as it was then.

When I get this game I hope I can find a Hi-res pic of it so I can replace the sleeve. :3

So? Still doesn't take away from the fact the Nintendo one sucks. Yeah, I get what you're saying about the different art styles, but they could of tried a little harder to make the game(s) look interesting.

I agree, it is a bit boring and ordinary. But I don't think it sucks. Metroid Prime 1's cover was a lot worse. Probably one of the worst covers I've seen on a game.

Seriously? First off I didn't think Prime 1's cover was really that bad, and secondly I'd say this one is worse. It's using pretty much just one color with slightly different shades, and then slapping the orange bar across the blue is just annoying to look at.

The first one just Samus standing there. Dull, boring. We get it, she's Samus. We get it, its Metroid. Luckily the game turned out to be one of the best Metroid games made. I don't find the orange bar that annoying to look at, Samus' Varia Suit is orange. As for the blue, not quite sure why they chose it but it most definitely could have been a worse colour.

And there's nothing wrong with that, it's just such a large contrast between the dark and moody blue they're using and the bright orange.

I think that goes without saying for me. Since this is all three games on one disc, this will be the single greatest disc the Wii ever uses. Full stop.
