wow

my friend who basically got his spot at EB because i told him to go to work early and swing by, who told me they ended up not having any Wii's.....just gets home from work, sends me a suspcious zip file. I open it up and it's a bunch of pictures of him with the Wii in hand and zelda and a jackass smirk on his face. wow.

I don't think i've ever been more pissed off at a friend then i am now. It's not only the fact that the only reason he got one was because of me, which he won't even admit, but the fact he lied to me about it and had the nerve to think it would be funny to send a bunch of pictures of him with the Wii that he wouldn't even have it wasn't for me being a good friend and waking him up to tell him.

Really puts a damper on my day that was already a crappy day.
Just keep thinking, 1 more day 1 more day then tomorrow night you can head to Target or Best Buy or wherever and you can finally get that pot of gold.
I know its a good thought, right now am calling all the friends setting up supplies and what not for an all-nighter tomorrow. the only thing left is making sure best buy has them!
I'm even losing faith that i'll get on Target. I've learned nothing is set in stone. The lady basically told me to come back sunday and i'll score one, but knowing my luck some crap will happen to break those plans.
I don't know about other areas, but I'm going to my local Toys 'R' Us Saturday night. My friend's mom talked to the manager, and he said they already have 36 in the stockroom waiting to be sold on Sunday. I'm not sure if they will hand out wristbands, but I'm tired of waiting for the chance to just "stroll in and grab one." That's why I'm going 10 hours in advance. Big Grin
Hi. Does anyone know anything about NYC? I am in the Bronx and I have a Target about 5 minutes away (driving). Would that be my best bet. Any ideas.
Sounds like most of us had a bad Wii day...

It really seems like the employees of these stores are getting tired of us, hahaha.

Here's to a fruitful Wii-kend for us all.

G'luck everybody
Yeah I have friends coming over tomorrow, and everything else is worked out EXCEPT the most important thing of all:

WHO IS GOING TO HAVE ANY?

I have all the available stores like:
Best Buy
Target
Wal Mart
Circuit City
Toys r Us

I just don't know who will have them for sure. I really would love it if Best Buy got theirs in, that would make everything awesome. I just don't know though, and I dont know of a way to find out!

About the others..I don't know either. I am going to call all of those places and find out tomorrow.
You can probably rule out WalMart most of them are holding off till the 6th it appears, you can check your local WalMarts weekly ad at http://www.walmart.com and see what it says about Wii's
ive been thinking about this whole sunday morning thing... and which store to go to, so here

I went to target and the guy was telling everyone "come back sunday" or "sunday people, we'll have them sunday"

this is a sign that you may not want to go to target if theyre telling everyone that.

on the other hand, i went to toys r us and had to basically tell the guy, "look, i know youve got them, how many will there be on sunday?" after which he told me to keep it quiet that i know this much.

GO TO PLACES WHERE YOU HAVE TO FISH FOR INFO, THE LINE WILL BE SHORTER, PLACES THAT OPENLY ADVERTISE THAT THEYLL BE ON SALE IN THE MORNING WILL BE BOOMING, I CAN ASSURE YOU
Yeah, my target wasnt like that, the guy was very secretive about it and he quickly said afterwards not to talk to about it, they didnt want people camping out. I would so go to Toys R Us if they would even give a little bit of info but my Toys R Us said they dont expect any till next week so who knows
Don't know if this is posted here yet, but here's the proof for Walmart Wii on 12/6. Minimum 3 per store.

Walmart Ad Scan
Looks like Toys R Us is going to force people to buy extra crap to get a Wii.

Toys R Us

Toys R Us

That's prob'ly the tamest bundle I've seen yet... Not a bad deal IMO
maybe thats just a sale item, i doubt youll HAVE to get that
Wait, so does this ad mean that Toys R Us will have Wiis on Sunday? If so. Sunday is looking better and better for me.
Nah the ad doesnt say when they'll have them
Prediction: You will not find more that 60 wiis at any store. Given the amount for inital launch, black friday, and now second launch, and the number of stores: BB, CC, TRU, Target about 3,500 US stores. Max 200K shipped units since, that's 57 unit if evenly distributed which it's not, but its ballpark. Factor in the leaching, "opps, [2 cases later] I wasn't supposed to sell those", and a better estimate would be 30 for the Majors.

Here's the bad news for us: Demand is increasing. This sh*t is viral. Everywhere I go I see someone bringing in their Wii's (work, campus, friends), like it was the first time they ever played a damn video game. PS3s being returned or sitting on the shelves?!? MS suggests PS3=wii+60, huh? The market is adapting to the fact that the Wii is a hit.

I hope I am like really wrong and there are 143 Wiis at every store and one has your name on it.

cheers.
Reasonable guess but I saw some ppl say when they lucked out on their Wii's at Target before they decided to hold they had like 150-250 depending on location and i know for a fact my Target held everyone they got this past week untill Sunday cause i tried everyday and they all said No then one nice guy finally said its being held till Sunday so im hoping they have a couple hundred
Alright.. I've got connections in a few stores, and here's what i've learned is going on for Sunday 12/3.

Wii Breakdown for Sunday 12/3:

Target: I have a good friend of mine who works at a local Target in the electronics department. On Tuesday, they received and quickly sold a shipment of around 30 Wii's. Today, they received another shipment of 12 Wii's, which they are holding and will go on sale at 8:00am on Sunday. So, there is hope for people whose Target's received shipments earlier in the week and already sold them. They may have received another like mine has. Target employees are also being told not to tell how many they have to customers, only that they'll be on sale Sunday.

Best Buy: I have a friend at Best Buy who works in the computer department, however, they won't tell him anything. They're being very tight over there about what information gets out. We won't know for sure, but sources point to Best Buy having at least 12 per store this Sunday. My friend confirms that Best Buy is looking good for all Sunday's throughout the season.

Wal Mart.: I stopped in my local Wal-Mart on Tuesday, and they had just received a shipment on Tuesday that consisted of 30 Wii's. Won't be released until 12/6. It's quite possible that Wal-Mart's may receive multiple large shipment by the time 12/6 hits.

Action Plan for Sunday

Stop 1: If your local Target opens at 8:00am like mine does, you should make that your first stop. There's a good chance that they'll have Wii's available. If there's more than 20 people in line, you may want to move on to Stop #2. However, it won't hurt to wait and see even if there are more than 20 if the next store doesn't open until 10:00am.

Stop 2a: Best Buy. Best Buys here in Upstate New York open at 10:00am. After an 8:00am stop to Target, you still have 2 hours to get to Best Buy. You're looking at at least 12 Wii's per store, although more than likely there will be more than 20.

Stop 2b: Toys R Us. If you don't have a Best Buy nearby, your next best shot is probably Toys R Us. Most open around 9:00am here, so after a miss at Target and no Best Buy, try Toys R Us. They may have some. However, you will probably have a better shot at Best Buy than Toys R Us.

Stop 3: Circuit City? Some sources point to Circuit City as having a possible shipment available for Sunday. If all else fails, try a trip to Circuit City. Most open at 10:00am.
