For those of you calling around, or going to customer service in the store, and getting the stock answer "I don't know", you're not being lied to. If you really want to know, you'll have to ask the manager, as they will sometimes divulge information. Most stores truely do know when shipments are coming in, it's just a matter of which workers to ask. Managers offer you a better chance of getting an answer, but in some situations, it is store policy not to divulge any shipment information.
To gonzo fish, that would be great, but unless that employee works in the stock room or management, It unfortunately might not be useful, as shipment information is contained often to only a few workers in the store to prevent what we have here, information spreading over the internet.
@kk203, that site looks interesting, maybe if we can double post our information over to there as well, it could work out to help.
I think with given time, we will be able to get our Wiis easily before christmas. Remember, today is one week from the release, theres 5 more until Christmas, with more than half left to ship, and a lot of the demand cut down.
Gamestop looks good for tomorrow, as does it on Wednesday and Wal-Mart/Target on Wednesday. I look forward to your results haruka. I wouldn't say the number theory with the 19th, 24th, then the 29th is correct. Remember, the first two days were big days, (launch and black friday), and neither the two Gamestops or EBgames in my area got any consoles on black friday.
This coming friday would be good, probably units going for sale that saturday, or held until sunday so they can put it in the Saturday/Sunday paper ads.
As of right Enow, Best Buy on Sunday seems our strongest so far, with Gamestop/EBGames on Monday and or Wednesday following suit. December first seems like a logical date, but a friday shipment seems to me something that wouldn't hit the shelves until that weekend. (Regardless, I will be taking a trip friday afternoon).
For anyone who gets a store that tells them to call later in the week, again, I feel that's more of a stock answer than any actual info. They know that if they get them in, they'll sell within a short timeframe. I think large retailers are the best place to get the consoles at least until the supply becomes steady.
So with all that in mind, good luck to everyone on getting info/consoles, and I will be back to post again and make a final update to the original post before the night, (6:05 PM where I currently am) ends for me.
