I'd like to personally thank this forum for helping me to maintain what shred of sanity i have left trying to find a wii, heh. I think at the moment i'm going for an all-out multiman post of target and bestbuy on sunday but i'll have to see how the week plays out. Thanks again.
I have acouple things to say:

I had some bad luck today. I checked 2 targets around 10am today, since i heard people say they get their shipments at night and stock during night. Yet no Wii's.

I call the SAME target around 2PM and he says they got a shipment TODAY, but they all sold out (obviously) - he did say to come back sunday (so again, the sunday thing seems to be true)

about the http://www.journeyed.com wii's

they won't be shipping for 2-3 weeks

I was in the first rust to discover this site earlier, when a guy on a forum i frequent found it (like 3pm EST) and i went straight to ordering

We soon discovered after some calls to the company (very nice sales phone people) that 1) you HAVE to call and verify your address or your order will stay as "on hold" like mine was before i called and 2) They won't be shipping for 2-3 weeks for some reason (guessing they don't have shipment in yet, even though they are taking orders). She assured me that i can call and cancel anytime before it ships, as it doesn't charge your card until it ships.

SO The way i see it is: if i find a Wii in a store or camp out this sunday and get one, i can just cancel my order...no harm done. And if i have bad luck and still don't have a Wii in 2 weeks, then fine...i have this one shipping to me.

So for me, the search still continues - i may be checking my Targets tomrorow around noon'ish, seeing as they obviously got the shipment yesterday after 10pm (aka not the previous night shipment like people were saying)

Goodluck everyone. But don't be too upset when you don't find one, because honestly it's 99% luck in finding a Wii. You have to have good timing on your side.

Damn really? Hmmm... How'd you know you had to call to verify address?? I haven't gotten any e-mail stating I had to... If they really aren't going to ship until 2-3 weeks then I'll definitely be at Walmart this weekend...
Would ~240 units really come via UPS? A number that high leads me to believe that Target may be sending out some shipments at night from their distribution centers along with other smaller shipments via UPS. This is just a guess on my part, but it seems to make sense. Anyone know anything else on how Target is getting their Wiis?

I just spoke with a good friend of mine who works for Target. He said that for the initial launch and for a time after that, Wii's and PS3's ship via UPS. After awhile, the Target Distribution Centers will be receiving the Wii's and they will be on the normal delivery. I don't know when this switchover takes place though.
I agree, it might just be wishfull thinking but UPS is a good service but 240 Wii's? thats a little much for UPS delivery i think i could be wrong but i think the switchover makes sense and maybe thats what has taken place

Well after not getting a confirmation email, i got ancy - call the 1 800 number, talked to a nice lady, and she told me she would verify it for me and get it processing BUT it wouldn't ship for 2-3 weeks, and i thinks he felt my pain and stressed that i can call and cancel at any time before shipping if i wanted to

Soon after, i got a confirmation email and now the status says "In Warehouse" at the website

Don't forget though, UPS has UPS Freight. They can deliver in pallets.

Hmmmm... I sure hope it's not 2-3 weeks.... I got my confirmation pretty much like 1 min after I confirmed the order on the website...

Its people like you that make it harder for the rest of us to get a Wii ?_?
so walmart calls me today since i'm on a waiting list for a wii, they tell me they just got some in, i get excited, take off work, start heading that way, they call me back on the way saying they can't sell them since they're saving them for a circular in december.... i now officially hate walmart
Moderator edit: No one likes these damned scams.

I tried to add a negative comment for the reputation of a no good goddamn spammer but I didn't see the option. So... I did it here.

mods - You need to do some spammer housecleaning.

Same here, but that's what they are telling everyone who ordered and called. I don't mind too much because i'm hoping to snag one this sunday at the latest
I would suggest calling toys r us in the morning they may get some in and may hold them for you. They open at 9 am around here. not sure about nationally!
This is not entirely true. Just keep calling your local stores and ask when the next shipments come in. I called Best Buy last week on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday and each time got the same answer "We aren't sure when we'll have more". Called on Saturday night though and the guy said "We'll have 51 of them tomorrow at opening". So, I stood in line for 4 hours and got # 19 of 51. Just be persistent and you will find one. Its only luck when you try the "stopping by different stores every day" method. You have to call and bug them to get info from them. Once you have info, its just a matter of getting in line early enough.

Yep. I'm just gonna be calling every day the rest of this week, and if i don't have one by saturday night - a friend and i are going to be at whatever store has them sunday morning, at like 5am haha
Great thread, thanks everyone.
Here's the San Fernando Valley report:
Southern California Targets - No Wiis, the operators and counter staff were all very helpful but just said to keep checking back. I was told they are receiving UPS shipments for the Wiis.
Target Canoga Park got a shipment of controllers in the afternoon. Several boxes of remotes, nunchucks and classic controllers.
Circuit City - Nothing and clueless.
Toys R Us - In the A.M. said they had nothing. In the evening one said they had 16 Wiis that morning that sold out right away.
CompuUSA - Nothing, tried to be helpful, but these guys don't know what's going on.
Best Buy - No Wii, nice but didn't mention anything about a Sunday sale.
Fry's Electronics - Posted a print-out in their sad little games department that read "We don't have any PS3 or Wii and we don't know when we are getting them so don't ask!"
Walmart - Picked up Zelda TP, they had about a dozen copies, other stores were sold out. The manager said they weren't expecting any Wiis soon, but didn't deny that there might be action on Sunday.
Good luck, Wii-Hunters!
