Judging from the picture, it looks like a good fit.

I think with Nintendo pushing the Wii for casual gamers, they will be less likely to release a hard drive for the system. Perhaps we'll see a new SKU with a HD built into it someday, but an add-on just doesn't fit with what they're pushing the Wii as right now.

Yes, making even hard core games easier, I doubt they'll think any of these casual gamers will want to implement something like this.

Let get something straight. Nintendo is not making a storage device other than a 1-32G SD card( Yes they do exist, 1G cost $10, 8G cost $50, 32G, unknown, probably 200 or more). Of couese they dont come from Nintendo themself. Most, if not all comes from third party companies. Nintendo wouldnt make a storage device like this when a new system is arriving.

IGN has a wii with an attached hard drive Nintendo sends them review copys of games using it.

Yeah there's a special Wii Firmware that allows Hard Disks. They use it in hospitals too with a library of games ripped to it apparently.

you might as well just wait until the next nintendo system come out which is a year or two from now. The closest you can get to good external memory is a 32GB SD card. They're pretty expensive($159-250) but I guess if you really need it, which is dumb since you wont be downloaded anything that big like a DVD,its worth the cause.

The special Wii firmware just sounds like the Homebrew Channel.

I would love a firmware update like that. let the hackers use their talents for something else

The sad thing about the whole "wait for Nintendo's next system" idea is that nobody is going to buy Nintendo's next system. The casuals will be satisfied with their Wii and the core hate Nintendo already, so t.hey won't bother.

Nintendo should've just went with industry standards in he beginning.
