Cool RE: The Legend of Zelda: Serenity's Edge
Oh man, this was so random, I was just surfing around looking up the hype about Serenity's Edge and I finally find the man responsible. Ok look, I'm giving you my full support as I have been working to be a part of a plan like this since I was 13, I'm 20 now and I must say I still havent seen what I'd really like to see in the Zelda series.
First, I was thinking of an idea where there was a young Link and he wakes up in a house
in the middle of a hot country similar to the villages or neighborhoods of rural oriental countries, and this family simply knows him as though he's been a member of their family all along and as he journeys both by land and sea he uncovers secrets and ancient powers that all irrevocably interconnect with the history of the country and its fate if left in the hands of the despot sworn to conquer the countries peace abiding neighbors. What do you think? Solid no? Also try kicking in a connection with either Hyrule or Termina, I know this concept sounds like a Links Awakening remake but its not, theres no dream here, unless you can think of something more complex, but thats my best bro!

RE: The Legend of Zelda: Serenity's Edge
i think you'd like what The Legend of Zelda: The Cardinal Kingdom has to offer then. connections to termina and hyrule and a s*** load of other regions. new lands, monsters, heroes/allies. the epicness is ridiculous

RE: The Legend of Zelda: Serenity's Edge
I have to agree with some of the earlier posts on here.  Nintendo might not want it (yet) and the blood parts
need to be reduced in some way.  Still, this is an outstanding begining!  It's like an experinced freelance writer (famous, of course) wrote this!  If you keep working on it, Nintendo might look at it (eventually, and hope so).

RE: The Legend of Zelda: Serenity's Edge
I apologize if someone has said this already, but I feel as though a good fit for the series as far as gameplay is concerned would be to make Zelda a true RPG and have Link level in the game, gaining new skills as he gets stronger.  Also I think it would be great to have his two final skills that he will learn be Triforce Slash(Super Smash Bros) and Evolution to Fierce Deity Link(Majora's Mask).  As for it being turned based, I think leaving it the way it is (3D attacking monsters with no wait time) would be best.

As far as the storyline is concerned, I think it would be a great idea if some of the more popular side characters of the series play an impact on this game as well.  More specifically Sheik and Midna ( which can still work even if Zelda is killed, link could catch a glimpse of sheik and chase after her all to have her dissappear in mid air similar to Ocarnia of Time).  Also if you bring them back have their basic normal forms modified, maybe show Shiek in the black suit from Smash Bros Brawl and give playability to those characters at their perspective after completion of the game.  That way you give fans a whole new look to the game from the viewpoint of another character instead of a wolf.

As far as the plot is concerned, I think letting Gannondorf take over and the death of Zelda is a great idea with maybe a reincarnation into Sheik as I previously stated would be great as well.  Having Link loose his triforce is a great start to give a sense of hoplessness new to the character at the very beginning.  Also I think a co-op mode would be something fresh to the Zelda series and also a great way to open the doors for online gameplay.  Meeting other characters in the world of Zelda as you fight through to collect your lost triforce as well as whatever pieces you need in order to bring unity to the world sounds like a great brewing for the new game.  Another great feature I think would be good in the new series would be to give link a party of other new characters sometimes.  Instead of him having save a specific character, have them temporarily join him in his party with the option to have them rejoin if he goes back to their hometown.  This way it would be completely unique to this game alone.  For example instead of link only gaining the power to use bombs from the Gorons have Darbus join him in fighting as well with his own skill sets and combo specials that link can use only when he is in the party.  Same as with Ilia or any other new side character who comes into play while visiting their respective village.  But Sheik and Mindna's co-op special have them hidden somewhere inside the game.  As to a final thriller to the completion of the game, give the option to replay the game from the side of Gannondorf as well.  This will give the evil thrillseekers a chance to see the game in a new light and set this game in an entire bracket of its on with the Zelda series.

I have other ideas about the game as well as how they will be used with the wii controller, if you are curious you can mail me at

anthony_s_barnes@yahoo.com

good luck with the game Smile

RE: The Legend of Zelda: Serenity's Edge
im not sure if anyone read the Cardinal Kingdom storyline but I made sure to include a variety of the things you'd like to see in the next zelda game...although it is all very lengthy, detail is not lost. if you'd like to check it out it should be on here somewhere or i can post it again...

I've read it.  The only problems I see with it is that details are not in the right place and there's too much detail in it.

Nothing wrong with a lot of detail. I think both our ongoing fantasized Zelda storylines are awesome.

RE: The Legend of Zelda: Serenity's Edge
What I meant was that you could put detail in as how Link and Zelda see the person or place.
Ex: Link saw a stranger wearing a brown tunic with no leggings, brown boots, and the stranger's jet black hair matched his dark eyes.
This makes it more interesting because the players (or readers in this case) are seeing the story through the character's point of view.

RE: The Legend of Zelda: Serenity's Edge
Hey everyone just thought I should give an update, which is going to disappoint a few people but I really haven't had any time to do anything more on Serenity's Edge. I've been very busy producing a low budget feature film and working on the script for another as well as pursuing other avenues in the film industry. I still have all the original things I wrote down for Serenity's edge plus the logo and stuff so if anyone wants them to continue working on ideas and things please feel free.

I may get around to having a look at it again one day but not in the foreseeable future as I have to much else going on, but you never know, in a few years I may have the resources to convert into the beginnings of a Zelda film.
Sorry again that I haven't posted sooner, just let me know if you want any of the material I have.

Hope everyone is and has been well and are doing things you enjoy Smile

We most certainly should! Big Grin
Give it 5 or 10 years though haha, then maybe we'll have the resources to do it justice.
