Sony's Scott Steinberg: no 'senior citizen' gaming happening here

RE: Sony's Scott Steinberg: no 'senior citizen' gaming happening here
it depends on your definition of AAA titles, imo

take a title like warioware, it came out right after launch, i bought it played the hell out of, beat it, play it again with friends, its a blast

now there arent too many of us on here (think mana liked this game too) that single out this game, so thats where the the disconnect is between me and many of the other mods on this site, some of the members also share this feeling but not too many staffers

i see others views (jeez you quoted me agreeing about the attachment rate), just not this steinberg douche, hes an idiot

Not really, AAA games have a general standard. And Wii doesn't have a substantial amount more than the other consoles. It has more general games, but not more AAA games.

WarioWare is a fun game, but not AAA. Smash, Metroid, and Galaxy are AAA games. But that's really all that comes to mind, maybe Wii Fit on a *good* day.

RE: Sony's Scott Steinberg: no 'senior citizen' gaming happening here
so other consoles AAA titles are:

sony: resistance, msg4, gta4, cod4

360: halo 3, gta4, gears, bioshock, cod4

is that correct?

I think it's interesting that Microsoft will try to get into the casual market a little more, and I look forward to see their motion sensing device and what games will use it. Also, I think if we put AAA titles aside and just talk about "good games" to date, you can look at metacritic.com and see how all the current games are rated and then make your decisions.

Systems and the number of games with a score of 75 or above

Xbox 360 170
PS3 85
Wii 45

Of course these numbers are compiled by taking all sorts of reviews, so there will definitely be games we liked, but didn't get a high score, so it's all subjective.

Judging off general scoring, yes.

According to Metacritic, FFIX is the best Final Fantasy of all-time so there aren't any complaints here. Big Grin

Is this thread about which console has quality titles though? I thought it was about Sony choosing not to make grandma games, and as I've stated before, if someone bakes better cookies than you, then bake a cake.

Now that we've heard the MotionPlus tech that Nintendo will be using can literally be used by anyone also, do we think both Microsoft and Sony will jump on this? If so do you think all three companies will create shovelware or will they actually make "more casual" decent?

I think if there were some sort of MotionPlus attachment for the SIXAXIS it would suck less and could actually be practical for use in video games. Actually, the thought of that excites me. Toungue

I don't see the other companies taking off with this product though. I see MS making Gears of War 3 and Sony... working on Home or something. I think they'll pretty much stick to their guns.

The stream of casual games is far less on 360 and PS3. The Wii is full of them.

I'll answer your question by underlining part of my previous post.

I don't think any company was being picked on with that statement, so I'm not sure where you pulled your info from.
