We are only a few weeks into 2010, and already we have been on the receiving end of some E3 hype. The newest addition to the pile comes courtesy of the PlayStation: The Official Magazine. They have dropped a rumour that Sony fans can apparently anticipate the unveiling of three new installments in some Sony franchises this year.

Killzone 3, inFamous 2 and Resistance 3 are the sequels in question. None are all too surprising, since in one way or another we have expected them or heard rumours of them. But that makes it no less exciting. Sony will need to have something to combat the potential revelation of Zelda Wii at E3 this year, and maybe that is the aim that these three blockbuster sequels will be shooting for.

Either way, we won't know for sure until E3 rolls around. But keep your eyes peeled, 2010 is going to be a big year.

I'd really enjoy seeing a KillZone 3, although I still need to play the first inFamous to appreciate a rumored inFamous 2.

Personally, I'm not to big on Resistance to care about another one.

So basically I'm more interested in a KillZone 3 than anything else.

Resistance was set to be a trilogy, right? Or am I thinking of a different series?

I didn't think it was, but the ending of Resistance 2 pretty heavily indicated so. inFamous 2 is my most hyped from that list, man I am in love with the first game still.

Killzone 3, it would shock everyone to have it here in 2010, which it is apparently aiming for. I suppose they wouldn't need to go through the process of doing a lot of the work. Since the story would pick up right where Killzone 2 left off.

Either way, bring on E3.

Sequel to inFamous?
Yes. Yes. Yes. Oh god yes.
I love that game so much. I still need to play through it all, but what it had really impressed me.
I can only wonder what they'll do with a sequel, but if they somehow manage to screw up inFamous's winning formula, then something has definitely gone awry in the video game world.

KZ is good, and a sequel won't hurt.
Resistance is good, and a sequel won't hurt.

Shooters are okay, but I prefer to keep them in moderation. Still, they are good.

Oh, how I wish I had a PS3.

The thing with inFamous is the canon ending can become a sequel. As it was very cool, and not exactly a full stop in a sentence.

Hence why I am so heavily anticipating a sequel for it.

They should let Killzone go. InFamous is a great series to continue with. I'm indifferent with Resistance.

I see no reason to let Killzone go. Its better than Resistance, and is Sony's Halo.

Resistance is a much better series than Killzone. Resistance has more Halo-esque qualities anyway.

I found Resistance to be far more boring. But I hate the Chimera.

I agree with LMX on this one, I found Resistance to be sort of droning (boring) while playing and the chimera were sort of annoying.

I felt more excited while playing KZ2.
